Do you prefer communicating via phone, text message or email? Does using a certain one change your behavior? (I.e. Is it easier to flirt via text than over the phone? Are you more business like in email etc.?)

I hate the phone.  Hate hate hate hate it.  I don't know why, I think it's because when I type an e-mail I can carefully choose what I want to say.  I can look it over and make sure I didn't make an ass of myself before I send it off.  With the phone I am always afraid I'll commit some social faux pas or stutter or mispornounce something.  Also, I'm afraid of wrong numbers.  Or interrupting someone.  Or. . .

Yeah.  Don't like the phone.  And because I don't like the phone, the one I have is very old-fashioned/low-tech and the plan I have is. . . I don't even know what the charge would be for text because I DON'T USE IT.

livejournal, I'm sorry I've failed you yet another month.  But honestly my adventures in reference and tech services just aren't going to be particularly interesting to anyone anywhere.  So. . .yeah.

Not that anything I write here is interesting, but, this would be like, down in the negative numbers on the interesting scale.

Although I did get to delete a copy of New  Moon from the library catalog the other day, which was oddly satisfying.  It never ceases to amuse me how ambivalent I am about those stupid books and those stupid movies.  They are so poorly written, but I've become emotionally invested in a handful of secondary and tertiary characters that I felt had crazy amounts of potential (albeit largely unrealized in canon) and now I can't break freeeeeeee.  Argh.

dear movie people,

I don't care about 3D.  I really don't.  At all.  It just does not interest me at all, and does not make me more likely to see a movie.  In fact, it makes me less likely to see a movie, because I automatically assume that the story and characters suck and all it has going for it are the visual effects, and I really don't care about that.

I don't care about HD and Blueray either.  You have to understand, movie people: I watch TV at home without my glasses.  That shows you how much I care about picture quality.  I don't.  I watch it in my fuzzy vision because I really just don't care to be wowed.  I find the pimping of HD and 3D and whatever-else-D to be kind of obnoxious.  If your movie or programing doesn't stand on its own and needs to be all digitally remastered and flying in my face, then I'm not interested.

Man I suck at livejournal this month.  Fail.

Let's see. . . I'm sick.  Again.  I was fine all winter until like, mid-January.  And now again.  Which is why I am writing this, because I can't sleep despite the fact I haven't gotten a decent night's sleep in three days.  Post nasal drip is a nightmare. My throat, it burns!

Oh and I've been doing my internship thingy at work, helping out in the youth department.  It was fun but I'm glad it's over because it kind stressed me out having to read books and sing stupid songs--not with the kids, of course, but with the parents who also show up for these (the storytimes I helped with were for two-year-olds).

I am in love with Stash Tea's Cinnamon Apple Chamomile, and normally I don't even like chamomile.

Eclipse stills?  Um, sorry, I don't really care about 42874932 different angles of the same two Edward and Bella make-out scenes, sorry.  Can I get some other Cullens up in here?  Some Volturi?  Anything but Edward and Bella?

However, in regard to the one with Riley and Victoria about to tear Edward to shreds:  DO IT! DO IT! DO IIIIIT!

Okay I guess I am going to try and sleep again.  I am entirely too tired and lazy to tag this entry.  Maybe tomorrow.

Conversation with a co-worker a few days ago:

S: I had a dream about Tuscany.

Me: Oh?

S: There was a talking woodpecker in it!

Me: A Tuscan talking woodpecker?

S: No. .. at least, it was speaking English because I was able to understand him.  But it was boring.

Me: The dream, or the woodpecker?

S: The woodpecker.  He just talked about his life as a bird.  It wasn't very interesting.

In other news, is it February yet?  January has got me in a funk and I really would prefer that it were over.   Thanks.

Title: Hunting Party
Characters: Carlisle, Aro
Rating: PG-13?
Category:  Backstory, Humor, Buddyfic
Spoilers:  None!
Summary: Forgot to post this one.  Volterra, c. 1724.  Aro's curiosity gets the better of him and he invites himself to dinner with his strange 'vegetarian' friend.  Carlisle POV, as usual.  x-posted to Twilight - Eternity at Pan Historia.

Disclaimer: Characters belong to Smeyer.  But since she gave us no clue of what one does in Volterra to pass the time, I thought I'd take a stab at it.

Dear Summit Entertainment,

He's had a total of like, 5 lines in two movies, but he gets a New Moon action figure? I get he has a following, although I don't necessarily understand why because basically we know NOTHING about him even in the books until Eclipse, but seriously you guys. . . wouldn't an Aro have been more appropriate for New Moon? But no, we get Edward, Bella, Jacob, Alice and. . . Jasper.

I mean I love Emmett, but he's been about as present as Jasper, so I'm not expecting an action figure.

Where is my dear Carlisle seriously you guys I am chagrined. He's had more lines and screen time in the first two movies than any other non-Edward  Cullen.

In fact, poor Carlisle (and Charlie!) get totally screwed in the whole franchise.  Look I get that the whole thing is aimed at teens, but (Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning excepted) these are straight-up two of the best actors in the series.  Show Peter and Billy some love, people.  Charlie is on NO promotional material at all even though he probably had the third biggest part in Twilight after Edward and Bella, and Carlisle is in very little promotion (AND TOTALLY GOT CHEATED OUT OF HIS AWESOME BACKSTORY WTF) despite being probably the fourth biggest part in Twilight, having more screen time in New Moon than anyone else in the fam 'cept Ed and Alice, being the leader of the god-damn family and the best character. I mean Esme gets no promotion either but she's not exactly plot-important.  Carlisle. .. there would BE no Edward if not for Carlisle, and Bella totally would have gotten eaten in New Moon if not for him.

I mean Carlisle's not old. .. well he is old but he doesn't look old. . . you know what I mean.  Besides, Dumbledore gets promotion and action figures and crap, but no love for the twi fatherly figures?

Sigh.  It's okay.  I love you Carlisle and movie!Charlie (book!Charlie I am indifferent to. . . )

Seriously people, wouldn't you love a copstache action figure?  Or an Aro one?  Please don't make a Carlisle, I would be forced to buy him and that would be embarrassing.

And let's not even get into how fugly these action figures are.  lol.  But that's part of their charm!

So, please, make an Aro or Charlie action figure but not Carlisle as has been mentioned and we'll call it even.
